U14 mentors pay tribute to Wexford Feile Champions

Congratulations to the u14 feile hurling team who won a very exciting match in Wexford Park on monday 1st  april .

The boys showed great character  and no little skill against a very good Naomh Eanna team.
The Martins boys lost the toss and Gorey elected to play against the wind in the first half,
giving the Martins the advantage of the wind which they used to great effect scoring 2-4 to 0-1 in the the first half(goals by Kyle Firman and Jack Devereux).
The lads knew the would have to play to their very best to keep the Gorey boys at bay in the second half, and this they did with a great exhibition of hooking, blocking and playing with great intensity.
Every player 1 to 15 played with great heart and courage and made mentors, parents
and supporters extremely proud of their efforts, winning by 2-6 to 0-6 .

A big thanks to Billy Devereux and staff of The Farmers Kitchen for providing the boys and families with top notch food, which the the boys filled their bellies with much gusto .
Now we look forward to the feile finals in Limerick on the 5th to the 7th of july - for this we will have to fundraise and hope that parents, family, friends and supporters of St. Martins will get behind the boys to make the trip a great experience for all.
Many thanks from the mentor team
John Stafford, Alan Devereux, Brendan Roche, Jacko Radford & Phelim Crotty.
