Update on Thurles Tickets situation

posted 21 Jul 2014, 14:54 by Cian OLionain   [ updated 21 Jul 2014, 14:54 ]

Folks, the County Board emailed us earlier this evening to let us know that there's a severe shortage of tickets for the Wexford v Limerick game in Thurles on Sunday.

Croke Park told Wexford GAA at 5pm that the county will get just 2,000 stand tickets but there have already been orders for more than 5,000 stand tickets from clubs around the county. There's no certainty either about how many terrace tickets are available or how many will be allocated to Wexford.

Ticket sales ...are suspended until Wednesday afternoon pending efforts to source more tickets for Wexford. The County Board is asking Central Countil to look at switching the quarter finals to Croke Park in order to accommodate more people. Now that Garth is back in Tennessee hopefully this will be an option.

At the moment, the Club cannot know how many tickets we might get, or for what part of Semple Stadium. We await developments at County Board, or elsewhere, and will try to keep all our members and friends up to date. Hopefully reason will prevail and some solution will be found to accommodate the thousands of Wexford fans who packed Nowlan Park, Wexford Park and previously trekked all the way to Ennis.

Loch Garman abú!
