With the U12 boys season nearing it's climax, the U11 side stepped up their preparations for next Saturday's Blitz with a visit to our good friends in Ballygunner. After two keenly contested games with the host club, honours were shared with one narrow defeat and one narrow victory apiece. However, our boys left their best till last, and produced an excellent performance in the third game to defeat Tramore comfortably.

On Saturday next (31st) all roads will lead to Piercestown, where some of the very best U11 teams in the country visit. Ballyboden, Nenagh, Thomastown, Dicksboro, Midleton, Mt Sion, Gorey and ourselves are the participating clubs for what promises to be a feast of hurling - and all are encouraged to drop down to the pitch to watch the stars of the future showcase their skills.

The U12 teams completed their Div 1 hurling fixtures on Tues evening last, when we made the trip to Craanford. The B team scored an exceptional 4-11 in defeating the hosts, while the A team continued their excellent form of late when they beat a very strong home side in an epic encounter. Scoreline: 5-10 to 4-8. Enough credit can't be given to both teams for the quality of hurling played in this enthralling game.

Our minor hurlers played  away to Shelmaliers on Wednesday evening. Our team started steadily to take a lead at the end of the first quarter. However, Shelmaliers fough back well to lead by 0-11 to 1-4 at half time.
The second half saw both sides exchange scores  throughout the half. After a very tough game St Martin's secured victory on a 3-14 to 1-16 scoreline.

A great day was had by all on Sunday at our club day.  Huge crowds of children and adults turned up on the day. Over one hundred and fifty children played in the Tony Boggan tournament and watching them shows that the future of the club is very bright.  The dunk tank was a great success with our chairman Mick being the first victim. Thanks to everyone who helped out on the day, with stretch and grow, face painting, mini train, targets, sheep racing, barbecuing, music, etc. etc.

Well done to the senior football team who had a great win over kilanerin on Sunday evening and have now qualified for the knock out stages of the championship.
There are lots of semi finals and finals over the next few weeks.  Check with selectors, the club website, Facebook ,twitter and the fixture page of this newspaper for further details.
