What a fantastic weekend we had at Feile in Limerick. The boys set off early friday  morning and a huge number of supporters followed them down.

Their first match was against the host club Kilmallock and proved to be a tough exciting affair.  The lads ran out as winners on a score line of 1.10 to 1.8. Then it was off to Limerick to the parade and then to the Kilmurry lodge hotel for all the supporters where a great night was had by all.

Bright and early saturday we were off on the road to Kilmallock again to play Bruff in temperatures normally only felt in the costa del sol! The boys gave an exhibition of hurling in this game and won it by 3.6 to 4.  We ( non players) adjourned to watch the Lions match before returning to the pitch for the final game in the group against Abbeyside from Waterford. These were a very big strong team and at half time were beating our boys by 7 points to nil.  The lads came out fighting in the second half and scored a couple of fine points to get back into it. We then got two goals in a couple of minutes and went ahead but in the final five minutes their sheer physical strength took over and they won on a scoreline of 2.10 to 2.3.

Our boys came off the field to a standing ovation which they thoroughly deserved. Every single one of them played their hearts out over the three games and were a credit to their club and families. Great credit is due also to the selectors John, Alan, Phelim, Brendan and Jacko who got the very best out of this team and their behaviour on the sideline is what every mentor should aspire to.  Well done men.
The boys then returned to their host families and enjoyed their night socialising with the local team while the supporters returned to kilmurry to socialise with a biker convention!!!
A fantastic weekend was had by all most especially by our chairman Mick who celebrated Kilkenny winning and reaching the big 50 on the same day.
Their will be loads of matches on in the coming weeks please check the fixtures in this paper.
