Games are in full swing now and the juvenile boys got their football campaign off to a flying start with two wins. They beat Starlights in Bellefield on April 18th by 5-18 to 0-1 and on Tuesday they beat Ballinastragh Gaels on a 6-20 to 2-2 scoreline.  A feature of both matches was excellent support play and long-distance shooting and it was great to see the full bench of subs getting extensive playing time also.

The under 14 boys have qualified for the next round of the Féile hurling and they will be playing Glynn-Barntown on Sunday 27th in Rathnure. Go n-éirí an t-ádh leo! Under 12 boys have commenced their football season nicely also with a win on April 15th at home to Starlights. Tonight, Tuesday 22nd, they play Sarsfields in Páirc Charman.

Our ladies football team travelled down to Duncannon on Monday 21st where they lost to St. James by 2-10 to 0-6 in the intermediate championship.

Our senior men had a very impressive win against Adamstown in the Group A of the football championship and there’s extensive reporting on the match in the local papers.

A legend of the hurling game, Damien Fitzhenry, will be in the Club with us on Friday 25th for a “Coaching the Coaches” workshop and all our coaches are encouraged to attend. Meanwhile, 250 miles away in Castlebar,  a table quiz team from the Club will be representing all of County Wexford in the All-Ireland final of the Scór competition on Saturday 26th. Best of luck to Phil, Chris, Eilís and Cian and safe travels too.
