Our juvenile boys travelled to Oulart on Monday 28th April and took the win by 5-15 to 1-6.  The on Wednesday April 30th their older clubmates, the minor, took on the Rapparees in a competitive and very high-scoring game which we won on a 4-14 to 4-8 scoreline. The game featured the return of Joe Coleman after injury and it was great to see him back in his natural habitat! Our U14 boys took on Oylegate in a challenge match on Thursday May 1st and unfortunately, after a good start, they fell away and the very strong visiting team ran out comfortable winners in the end. The under 10 and under 9 boys played two excellent matches against Faythe Harriers on Friday 2nd in Piercestown. There was a high level of skill on display and, especially in the under 10 game, the competitive bite and good sportsmanship filled one with real hope for the future.

The same night Ciarán Lyng ran a fantastic “Coaching the Coaches” workshop on the finer points of forward play. Our ladies’ intermediate football team were very willing guinea pigs for this session and all the coaches who attended found it really interesting.

Tomorrow is a huge night for our minor camogie team as they take on Rathnure in the county final in Wexford Parl at 7pm, having overcome Craanford in the semi-final by 2-13 to 1-3.

The camogie teams will be hosting a novel fundraiser on Saturday, May 24th, at 7pm. At the St. Martin’s pop-up boutique you can enjoy an evening of retail therapy, hair and make-up tips. All items of ladies’ fashion and clothing that are in good condition, clean and ready to sell can be donated at the club on Thursday, May 15th, 6-9pm. More details will be available on the club’s website and Twitter feed. We’d also like to wish Tracy Browne all the best in her new role with the Camogie County Board on the production of programmes for all semi-finals and finals.

In the Club Lotto, the numbers were 3, 8, 17 and 22 and as there was no overall winner the Jackpot now stands at €14,800. We had 1 match-3 winner, Ciarán Whelan, who gets €50. The minor boys’ fundraising jersey raffle draw will take place tomorrow, Wednesday. An extensive collection of exotic sports jerseys from Norway to the USA is on offer and raffle lines are only €2 each from any member of the minor squad.

Finally, we invite all friends to follow us on twitter for live updates from matches (especially underage) and general club news. You will find us at @StMartinsGAA. Anyone interested in helping us extend our tweeting coverage is asked to contact Coiste PRO, Cian.
