On Monday 19th, our juvenile boys hosted Shelmaliers in the premier football championship and they were put under real pressure for long stretches of the game before steadying themselves towards the end and winning by 2-13 to 0-11.

Our under 14 footballers travelled to take on Horeswood last Thursday and they registered their first win of the championship on a 3-13 to 1-11 scoreline. The lads played with great teamwork in both defence and attack and took some wonderful scores so hopefully they can now build on this performance. On the same night, our under 12 boys hosted Oulart The Ballagh for a high quality match which our lads won, after a very good team performance, by 4-9 to 3-3. This was great practice for their first championship match which is on tonight, in Piercestown, at 7pm.

The brave under 10 boys travelled in large numbers to Hollymount on Friday 23rd where, in driving rain and unseasonal cold, we played 3 excellent matches against Shelmaliers. The 60 boys who togged out on both sides are a credit to their mentors and the energy and enthusiasm on display would put many adults to shame! The boys’ next game is football, at home, against Glynn Barntown on Friday at 7pm.

Saturday 24th saw the camogie club’s pop-up boutique fashion fundraiser in the Club; many thanks to all who supported this novel event.

In the Club Lotto, the numbers drawn were 9, 12, 17 and 23 and there was no overall winner of the €15,000 jackpot. Congratulations however to Daithí Waters who matched 3 and bagged €50 which he said was an even bigger thrill than being selected to represent Ireland in the international rules against Australia! Finally, our Coiste na nÓg meets tonight at 9pm and each age group is asked to send at least 1 representative
